   The ‘target market’ is the student profile or ‘type’ that the school sees as its most successful student. Try to find schools who see you as their target market.

   ‘Market positioning’ is the school’s way of appealing to its target market.

   ‘Market segmentation’ is the concept that in the marketplace, different groups can be combined to create a target market, or the target market itself can be divided into subgroups. Being adept at reading this factor determines the success of the school at positioning itself effectively so as to reach its target market.
